Beautiful Redwork

Janet of Beloved-Creations was at a quilt show last year and came across an antique quilt that she fell in love with. The quilt was solid white cotton with Red Work blocks of every day items such as dogs and cats, kitchen items, and other designs. She decided she would recreate that type of quilt blocks for sale on her web site.
Janet shares a bit of the redwork history~"Where does Red Work get it’s name? Turkey -- no not our favorite bird at Thanksgiving but the country Turkey. In the mid to late 1800s Turkish cloth makers found a way to make red dye color fast to their cotton. When this happened women would pay extra for the red thread that came from Turkey. The style of embroidery was called Turkey Red Work but most people know it as Red Work today. At first women embroidered simple household items like tea towels, napkins and such. Later women started embroidering quilt blocks with the red thread."
Beloved-Creations' Red Work quilt blocks are made with 100 percent cotton bleached white muslin with 100 percent red cotton thread on a 15x15 inch block. Each block was stabilized with cut-away polymesh stabilizer. Please enjoy these designs and check Beloved-Creations for new ones soon.
As a Proud member of Make MinePink.com, Beloved-Creations is excited to participate in the “Pink Diamond Event”.
